Michael attends the Global Peter Drucker Forum

Michael was delighted to attend the 9th Global Peter Drucker Forum - the third one for him.

While I would have strongly preferred to attend in person, in the elegant and lofty city of Vienna, Austria, I was nonetheless gratified that it was possible to attend virtually, from Phoenix, Arizona. As always, this year’s topic of “Growth and Inclusive Prosperity” was timely and highly relevant for those of us concerned with culture, change, and humanity.

As the conference website explains,

The conference will focus on the management challenges for private and public sector organizations and the civil society in the context of a fast-changing, complex and volatile environment. It will also keep in perspective a well-functioning and fair society where broad-based prosperity in all its dimensions must be the objective.

Several key questions resonate with us as culture and change professionals, especially:

  • Unleashing innovation driven growth globally. Creating a “social ecology” of organizations & institutions (Drucker) that enables innovation, entrepreneurship and value creation.

  • Determining a new equilibrium between global and local as well as centralized vs decentralized to support a sense of belonging, joint purpose and community building.

  • Developing leadership skills and competencies that help to unleash human potential – be it for growth from exploitation of existing capabilities or development of new opportunities.

We thank the Global Peter Drucker Forum for hosting such an engaging and though-provoking event, and we eagerly look forward to attending in person again in the future!
