Global Dexterity for educators

Melissa announces a new training opportunity!

This summer, I am excited to offer a new program specifically designed for teachers. The Global Dexterity for Educators program will introduce small groups of teachers to the research-based and highly practical Global Dexterity Method, created by Andy Molinsky.

I am particularly enthusiastic about delivering this program because some of my first clients were teachers and students, back when I was starting as an intercultural consultant. This was for several reasons: my MA research and capstone project had an education theme with a look at bias development in children and intercultural children’s literature, and I already had a background working with youth as a former ESL instructor, swim coach, and substitute teacher. Yet most important, it was because I had relationships with teachers, and as I shared my observations and insights with them, they realized that there was a need for expertise in addressing the cultural challenges they faced on their campuses and in their classrooms.

In the intervening years, my work has migrated more to the world of global business and expats, but children, education, and teachers still have a place in my heart. While working with my colleagues Andy Molinsky and Kinga Bialek on rolling out the Global Dexterity Train the Trainer certification, it struck me that this material could potentially be very useful and valuable for teachers. So, I will deliver a summer program specifically tailored to their needs.
